This marks the second time the "Kwaku Traveller" hitmaker has been recognized by the prestigious awards, following his previous nomination last year when he lost to France's Benjamin Epps.
In this year's competition, Black Sherif faces stiff competition from international talents, including the late AKA and K.O from South Africa, Zimbabwe's Sampa The Great, Gazo from France, Central Cee and J Hus from the UK, Major Rd and Ninho from Brazil, and Tasha & Tracie, also representing Brazil.
The 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards are scheduled to be held in Atlanta on October 3, 2023, and will commemorate 50 years of hip-hop culture.
Hailing from Asante-Akyem Konongo, Black Sherif has become a significant source of inspiration for many young artists.
In his relatively short time on the music scene, he has achieved remarkable success and continues to strengthen his position as a formidable figure in the Ghanaian and international music landscape.
His nomination as the sole Ghanaian artist in this year's BET Awards underscores his growing international prominence, further solidifying his status as a rising star on the global stage.
